對於so that, in order that ,in order to,so as to,so..... that和such.... that，你是不是一臉懵，那你應該看看這個！
表示目的的連詞有很多，有so, so that, in order that ,in order to,so as to等等，那麼它們各自的用途與它們之間的區別是什麼呢?
so that“以至於，以便”
1. 表目的。是“以至於，以便”的意思
它和so ....that不一樣, (省略出是個形容詞) 在非正式語體中, so可以代替so that引出目的狀語從句。
例如:
Telephone him at once so（ that） he may not worry about us.
請馬上給他打個電話，以便讓他不擔心我們。
2. 它還可以表示結果,引導結果狀語從句,一般用逗號與主句隔開。
All photos I have no reservations,
so that you understand it?
所有的照片我都沒有保留，這樣說你明白了嗎？
3. so that後面跟的是一個長句子,引導目的狀語從句,此時意義上等同於in order that ,但是in order that可以放在句首,而so that則不能放在句首。
例如:
In order that everyone present might hear her clearly, she raised her voice again.
為了使在場的每個人都能聽清楚，她再次提高了聲音。
in order that “為了，以便”
1. 用於虛擬語氣中, 在正式語體中, in order that引導的狀語從句有時也採用現在時虛擬語氣。
例句：
They removed the prisoner in order that he not disturb the procceedings any further .
他們把犯人移走，以便他不再擾亂遊行隊伍。
上句中的he not disturb也可以用he should not disturb 來替換。
2. in order that 與情態動詞連用
在in order that從句中可以使用can,could,may,
might,should,would等情態動詞。
例句：
We do not read history simply for pleasure,
but in order that we may discover the laws of political growth and change.
我們閱讀歷史不單純是為了娛樂，而是為了可以從中發現政治發展和政治演變的規律。
注意：so that與in order that
in order that用於相當正式的語體中,表示經過精心策劃的目的,有時可與so that互換。
so that引導目的狀語從句時,表示“以便;為了”,從句中常使用can /could /may /might/will /would shoul等情態動詞或助動詞;引導結果狀語從句時,從句中一般不用can和may等詞,在so that前可以用逗號,意思是“因此:所以”。
例如:
The little boy saved every coin， so that he could buy his mother a presenton Mother's day.
這個小男孩把每一枚硬幣都存了下來，這樣他就能在母親節給他媽媽買一份禮物了。
in order to “為了”
in order to後面接動詞原型，用來表目的,它所引導的是目的狀語。in order to可以放在句首，in order to後面跟的是一個短語，而in order that 後面跟的是一個句子。
例句：
In order to do this you have to build up confidence.
為了做到這一點，你一定要建立起自信。
We all get up early in order that we might start at seven.
我們都早點起床，以便我們可以七點鐘出發。
so..... that和such.... that
such....that“如此.....以致於.....”
that後面接一個表示結果的狀語從句
so ..that “如此.....以至於.....”,引導結果狀語從句,與such..... that意思相同,但用法不同。
so....that這一結構中, so後邊可加形容詞或副詞, 而such後邊要用名詞(這個名詞前面可以帶形容詞,也可以不帶)。
例如:
She is so clever a girl that all of us like her.
她是如此可愛的一個女孩以至於我們都喜歡她。
The task was so easy that I got it over within one hour.
這個任務是如此的容易，以至於我一小時之內就完成了。
such.....that的句型結構可分以下三種:
1.such+a(an) +adj.+單數可數名詞+ that從句
例句：
He is such an honest boy that everybody likes him.他非常誠實,所以大家都非常喜歡他。
She is such a lively girl that we all like her.
她是個如此活潑的女孩以至於我們都喜歡她。
2.such +adj.+複數可數名詞+that從句
例句：
They are such interesting novels that I want to read them once.
這些小說非常有趣,我想再讀一遍。
3. such+adj.+不可數名詞+ that從句
例句：
He has made such great progress that the teachers are pleased with him。
他進步得很快,老師們對他感到很滿意。
注意:
如果such後邊的名詞前由many, much, few, little等詞所修飾的話,則不用such而用so。
例如:
He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over.
他摔了很多跤,以致於全身上下青一塊紫一塊的。
He had so little education that he was unfit for this job.
他所受教育很少,不適合做這個工作。
so as to “以便於”
它和in order to的意思是一樣的,沒有什麼具體的區別，在位置上, so as to不能位於句首，而in order to則可以放在句首，後面跟的都是一個短語。
注意:
1,如果是表示否定目的,則要在“to”前加否定詞not,即要用"so as not to的形式。
例如:
He left his gun outside so as not to frighten his wife.
他把槍留在外面以便不使他的妻子受到驚嚇。
2. in order to是so as to的同義詞組,兩者一般可互換使用。但是,當特別強調目的,且把目的狀語放在句首時,只用in order to。
例如:
In order to get more money they can do anything.
為了得到更多的錢，他們可以做任何事情。
