After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem
當希律王的時候，耶穌生在猶太的伯利恆。有幾個博士從東方來到耶路撒冷，說， (Matthew 2:1)
and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
那生下來作猶太人之王的在哪裡？我們在東方看見他的星，特來拜他。 (Matthew 2:2)
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
希律王聽見了，就心裡不安。耶路撒冷合城的人，也都不安。 (Matthew 2:3)
When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.
他就召齊了祭司長和民間的文士，問他們說，基督當生在何處。 (Matthew 2:4)
“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
他們回答說，在猶太的伯利恆。因為有先知記著說， (Matthew 2:5)
“ ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’ ”
猶大地的伯利恆阿，你在猶大諸城中，並不是最小的。因為將來有一位君王，要從你那裡出來，牧養我以色列民。 (Matthew 2:6)
Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.
當下希律暗暗地召了博士來，細問那星是什麼時候出現的。 (Matthew 2:7)
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
他們去後，有主的使者向約瑟夢中顯現，說，起來，帶著小孩子同他母親，逃往埃及，住在那裡，等我吩咐你。因為希律必尋找小孩子要除滅他。 (Matthew 2:13)
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,
約瑟就起來，夜間帶著小孩子和他母親往埃及去。 (Matthew 2:14)
where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
住在那裡，直到希律死了。這是要應驗主借先知所說的話，說，我從埃及召出我的兒子來。 (Matthew 2:15)
When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.
希律見自己被博士愚弄，就大大發怒，差人將伯利恆城裡，並四境所有的男孩，照著他向博士仔細查問的時候，凡兩歲以裡的，都殺盡了。 (Matthew 2:16)
Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
這就應了先知耶利米的話，說， (Matthew 2:17)
“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”
在拉瑪聽見號啕大哭的聲音，是拉結哭她兒女，不肯受安慰，因為他們都不在了。 (Matthew 2:18)
After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
希律死了以後，有主的使者，在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說， (Matthew 2:19)
and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”
起來，帶著小孩子和他母親往以色列地去。因為要害小孩子性命的人已經死了。 (Matthew 2:20)
So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.
約瑟就起來，把小孩子和他母親帶到以色列地去。 (Matthew 2:21)
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
只因聽見亞基老接著他父親希律作了猶太王，就怕往那裡去。又在夢中被主指示，便往加利利境內去了。 (Matthew 2:22)
and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.
到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裡。這是要應驗先知所說，他將稱為拿撒勒人的話了。 (Matthew 2:23)
