編者按：主題為“寒假”的澎湃第五屆寒暑假徵稿活動正式啟動至今，我們收到了不少小畫家、小作家們的作品。孩子們用文字、圖像、視頻，展示了他們眼中的寒假生活，接下來作品會陸續刊登。
今天刊登的是來自ValeyVast 英語俱樂部的Lawrence小朋友的投稿。今年的新年是一個特殊的新年，新冠病毒讓整個社會生活都發生了改變。雖然造成了極大的困擾，但是聶禮澤在作文中也說，這場抗擊疫情的戰役我們認識到了“中國速度”和中國人民的決心。讓我們來讀一讀他的作文吧。
作品：《A Special Chinese New Year》
作者：聶禮澤（Lawrence）11歲 海桐小學五（2）班
When students’ final exam of their grade ended, families in China were going to prepare for Chinese New Year. It sounded like a normal Chinese New Year as before, but there was a special kind of virus called Novel Corona Virus interrupting all happiness and new year routines in China. Novel Corona Virus got many bad words, but it let us and the Earth know what China could do when it was facing a deadly virus.
The virus may make people sick and also spread easily. Although it firstly broke out in China, but because of traveling and global connections, it caused damage in other countries such as Italy, Iran, Spain, and parts in Africa and Europe. For example, a ship started from China with people infected, landed in Vietnam and Japan. It had an effect on other areas and people too.
However, the virus made us to know some people working in different areas during the virus breaking out. They gave up their holidays, safety ground as well as sleeping but wanted fewer and fewer people get the virus in return. They were a number of doctors and nurses. They worked in the most dangerous places, taking care of people who were threaten by virus or death. They completed tasks with tiredness. For some cases, they did not need to come and do this work, but they still stayed as volunteers.
There was a speed called “China’s Speed”, you cannot see it very often, but it was powerful to use it. When the virus was all over Wuhan, workers were told to go to Wuhan and build a new hospital. Then they took the job and built two hospitals. Each of them only took ten days.
For regular people, we could not do too much for the virus, but we could still stay at home. Many of us donated money and things that are in need for Wuhan’s people.
Even this virus is deadly damaging our country and some lives, but we worked together and made efforts to make things better. I am sure that we will beat it very soon.
